Our client went through 2 seperate development applications with us to achieve the result they required on this site that was considered ‘problematic’ by others.
The first DA was for the demolition of a dilapidated pre-1947 constructed house on the waterfront in Brisbane within the TBC overlay. This approval was given by the Planning and Environment Court which was advised early on by JREY as the best course of action.
The second DA was for a 3 storey new house in the Traditional Building Character Overlay. Whilst additional storeys are not generally supported the local context lended toward a compliant performance outcome of the Brisbane City Plan.
